Production 2027 Honda V3R 900 E-Compressor Revealed in Design Filing
Official launch expected at EICMA
Honda has filed to protect the design rights for what appears to be the production version of its V3R 900 E-Compressor. The design filing shows a motorcycle that looks quite close to the prototype revealed at EICMA, but with all the necessary elements to make it street legal, such as mirrors, turn signals, reflectors, and a license plate holder.

The design was filed with Australia’s intellectual property office on March 26 but only made public today. It cites an earlier filing in Japan made on Oct. 2, 2025, that remains under an embargo.
The prototype was camouflaged with a geometric pattern that made it difficult to see a lot of detail, but the grayscale design filing provides a clearer look at how the bodywork comes together.
The headlight unit appears unchanged from the prototype, and we now have a better glimpse of the asymmetrical cowls to either side. The right side is noticeably larger than the left, serving as an air intake and airbox. It features two different colored areas, with the dividing line following the path of the trellis frame to the headstock. Positioned on that line is a circle that will be where Honda will place its new flagship wing tank emblem that will be featured on its top-tier models. The smaller left cowl is one solid color, fully incorporating the tank emblem.
The engine is fully exposed on either side, which makes sense, as its unique configuration makes it something Honda will want to showcase. The engine puts two cylinders pointing forward and one pointing back in a 75° V-angle. The e-Compressor, an electrically-controlled compressor, sits above the forward cylinder bank. Honda previously confirmed the V3R will have a 900cc displacement, with the compressor boosting performance to put it on par with a 1,200cc engine.
The chassis appears unchanged from the prototype. Up front, we see a similar inverted fork and dual radial-mount calipers (likely the same Nissins used on the prototype) and a unique brake rotor design. For the rear, we spot a Honda Pro-Link system supporting the single-side swingarm.
We expect Honda will officially announce the V3R 900 production model, along with full specifications, in November at EICMA, where it previously showed the prototype and the initial engine concept.

Holding off on my almost-990 SuperDuke purchase. Honda, please make it right and give it a decent suspension. A good retail price would be nice as well.
I totally agree. The Rebel is nice, but the 1100 holds a gallon less than my 07 VTX1300R. The Shadow Phantom looks nice, but it's only 750cc.
