Yamaha Legends And Iconic Racebikes At Misano Gallery
The Yamaha Racing Heritage Club (YRHC) recently hosted a special event at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli featuring several significant motorcycles from Yamaha's 65-year history of Grand Prix racing, and legends such as 15-time World Champion Giacomo Agostini, two-time FIM 250cc World Champion Carlos Lavado, three-time World Champion Luca Cadalora.
Current Yamaha riders including Pata Maxus Yamaha WorldSBK Official Team riders Andrea Locatelli and Xavi Vierge, GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team riders Remy Gardner and Stefano Manzi, and reigning FIM Endurance World Champions Marvin Fritz, Karel Hanika and Leandro Mercado from the Yamalube YART Yamaha EWC Official Team were among those in attendance, riding with the legends.
Yamaha brought out several iconic Grand Prix bikes for the occasion, including Agostini's restored YZF500 0W23, Lavado's title-winning 1986 YZR250 0W82, Cadalora's 1990 YZR250 0WB9 and 1998 YZR500 0WK1, Eddie Lawson's 1986 YZR500 0W81 and 1987 YZR500 0W86, and 2002 YZR500 0WL9 models ridden by Norifumi Abe, Alex Hofmann and Olivier Jacque.
Several production-based World Superbikes were also on hand, including Fabrizio Pirovano’s 1992 FZR750R OW01, and a trio of bikes from Noriyuki Haga's career: the 1998 YZF750 0WJ6, 1999 YZF750 0W02, and 2008 YZF-R1.
