2025-2026 Kawasaki W230 Recalled for Damaged Indicators

Bulbs may have been damaged during manufacturing

June is suddenly turning into the month for turn signal recalls, first with a problem with the indicators on the 2025 Yamaha Ténéré 700, and now with a new recall for the 2025 and 2026 Kawasaki W230, affecting 840 units in the U.S. market.

While the Yamaha recall was electronic in nature, requiring the replacement of the digital dashboard, the Kawasaki recall is physical, with some turn signal bulbs being damaged during manufacturing. Both the front and rear indicator lights may be affected.

According to recall documentation released by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, improper process controls may lead some bulbs to contain foreign material or have cracks. Depending on the extent of the irregularities, the bulb filament may be damaged, or may not last as long as it should, causing the turn signal lamps to fail. The recall documents lists Fiem Industries of Sonipat, India, as the bulb supplier.

Kawasaki has issued a stop sale on 2025 and 2026 W230 models but unlike the Yamaha recall, have not advised owners to stop riding their motorcycles.

As of this writing, Kawasaki has not developed a remedy yet, though we expect that won’t take long.

I spoke only of the bulbs. Although, their motorbikes aren't much better.
