In Gear: REV’IT! Tornado 4 H2O Jacket and Pants Review

The REV’IT! Tornado 4 H2O jacket and pants is a solid three-season – maybe four if you’re hearty enough – kit from the Dutch brand that stretches deep into the heat of summer, and pretty far into the winter or fall depending on your tolerance. The outer shell is composed of large panels of abrasion resistant 3D mesh bolstered by polyester ripstop with SEEFLEX CE-Level 2 armor in the shoulders, elbows, and knees as well as CE-Level 1 SEESMART hip protectors. The jacket also features pockets for REV’IT!’s SEESOFT back and divided chest protectors and can be used with the REV’IT! Avertum Tech-Air airbag system, though sizing up is recommended.

Delving inside the jacket, one is greeted with the liners that help stretch this kit’s use case into cooler weather. Both a detachable Hydratex waterproof liner and a quilted liner are able to be used together or separately, and can also be used off the bike after hours. The waterproof liners fit is also generous enough to be used over the outer layer if desired. Adjustment straps can be found at the forearm, bicep, and waist with additional fine-tuning available at the collar and wrist on the jacket. Its elbow armor can also be adjusted in one of three positions. The pants offer adjustability in the waist, calves, and ankles.

Other features include a connection zipper between the jacket and pants, an external hang loop on the jacket, and pops of reflectivity throughout. Slit pockets are included on the jacket and pants with inner pockets on the jacket itself as well as the waterproof liner.

The fit of the REV’IT! Tornado 4 H2O is fairly generous and the three options of inseam length give riders of all sizes options.
