Maxi-scooter and S2 Alpinista Corsa concepts also to appear in Milan

LiveWire officially announced that its S4 Honcho will not be a heavyweight electric motorcycle as expected, but instead will be the official name of its 125cc-equivalent mini-bikes. The LiveWire S4 Honcho Street and S4 Honcho Trail are expected to enter production in spring 2026. Both models will be showcased at EICMA, along with a few other concepts.

The two bikes first debuted as prototypes during the Harley-Davidson Homecoming event in July. Unlike LiveWire’s existing products, the S4 Honcho models are powered by a pair of removable batteries stored under the flip-up bench seat. We don’t yet have any performance figures, though LiveWire says they will be comparable to motorcycles with 125cc internal combustion engines.

With branding these two mini-bikes as S4 models, LiveWire has changed course from its initial product plans. When Harley-Davidson originally spun off LiveWire as a separate brand, it outlined plans for four different product tiers. The LiveWire One represented the top tier, followed by the S2 middleweight class. LiveWire initially pegged the S3 for lightweight two-wheelers, with S4 models intended for heavyweight models. That no longer seems to be the plan, with the lightweight S4 models, but it does raise the question of what the S3 tier will now represent.

S4 Honcho Trail

The S4 Honcho Trail will be for off-road use only, which means it will not have lighting, a license plate, or any instrumentation. Instead of a headlight, the Trail model has a number plate, while both high fenders hang over both wheels. Knobby tires and off-road tuned suspension help with navigating unpaved surfaces, and LiveWire claims the Trail model will have increased ground clearance, though that’s not apparent in the pre-production images released.

Based on the number of photos LiveWire released, and the ability to ride without having a license, it looks like LiveWire expects the Trail to be a higher volume model than the Street. The images show the Honcho Trail being used in a number of ways, from light trail riding to hunting.

S4 Honcho Street

The S4 Honcho Street model will qualify for A1 licenses in Europe (and regular M endorsements in the U.S.), and come with the necessary street legal bits, plus a TFT display and additional controls on the left handlebar.

We’ll have more information on both models on November 4, at EICMA.

S2 Maxi-Scooter Concept

Also appearing at EICMA, LiveWire will present a concept version of the S2 Maxi-Scooter. Developed with the help of Kymco, the maxi-scooter adopts LiveWire’s existing S2 Arrow architecture into a completely new form factor.

The new concept looks quite similar to one of the early models showcased last year, but with a more production-looking swingarm with a drive belt cover, passenger grab handles, and a more subdued fairing shape.

The maxi-scooter is supposed to enter the market in 2026, and the concept does look close to being production ready.

S2 Alpinista Corsa

LiveWire will also present a new concept based on the Alpinista. Dubbed the S2 Alpinista Corsa, the concept features a number of upgrades including BST Twin Tek carbon wheels, Öhlins suspension, clip-on handlebars, billet triple clamps and rear sets, plus carbon fiber fender, belt guard, and radiator shrouds.

Though it is only a concept, LiveWire says the Alpinista Corsa is a “testament to LiveWire’s future development path for S2.”

LiveWire’s EICMA booth will also be celebrating a decade of STACYC electric balance bikes, including a 20H-Drive model that will enter the European market in 2026. LiveWire will also preview a next generation connected platform developed in partnership with c.technology AG.

Bar-end mirrors will be of great help when filtering in city traffic, LOL.

I think a Scooter is the best usage of an Electric motorcycle because they are generally used around town. Perfect commuter and grocery getter.

Agreed. Except for the fact that the battery consumes the large storage area that scooters usually have.
