2026 Triumph Tiger 900 Alpine and Desert Editions Confirmed
Special editions for Triumph’s mid-sized adventure bikes
Triumph is preparing two new special edition Tiger 900 models for 2026, in the form of Alpine and Desert Editions. If that sounds somewhat familiar, it’s because Triumph did the same thing in 2020 , but with the Tiger 1200.
The confirmation comes to us via homologation filings published in Switzerland, which recently added updated data for Triumph’s Tiger 900 models. The new data included a Tiger 900 GT Alpine Edition and Tiger 900 Rally Desert Edition, with two options for exhausts for each model.
From its name alone, it’s clear the Tiger 900 Rally Desert Edition will be based on the Rally Pro, the off-road focused model in the range. The homologation data confirms this, showing the same dimensions, and combination of a 21-inch front wheel and 17-inch wheel at the rear. The listed tare weights are also the same, which suggests the Desert Edition’s claimed curb weight should be the same 503 pounds as the Tiger 900 Rally Pro.
Meanwhile, the Tiger 900 GT Alpine Edition shares similar dimensions with the GT Pro variant, except that its tare weight is 2 kg (4.4 pounds) heavier than the standard model. The source of that weight difference isn’t apparent from the homologation data alone.
Judging from their similarities, we don’t expect the Desert and Alpine Editions to vary too much from the models they are based on. That was the case when Triumph introduced the Desert and Alpine Editions of the 2020 Tiger 1200. The special edition models added a bidirectional quickshifter, a titanium Arrow silencer, an SE badge on the radiator shrouds, and unique color schemes: Snowdonia White for the Alpine Edition and Sandstorm for the Desert Edition.
Triumph already announced the 2026 Tiger 900 GT, GT Pro, and Rally Pro last month, with no changes except for new color options. Those options already include a Snowdonia White with Graphite as the standard color for the Rally Pro, and Snowdonia White with Sapphire Black as an optional color for the GT and GT Pro. Triumph will likely mix things up for the Tiger 900 GT Alpine Edition’s paint scheme to separate it from the regular color option.
We don’t know when Triumph will formally announce the two special edition Tiger 900 models, but we suspect it will be ahead of the fall launch season.
