Motorcycle.com Best of 2025
Another year is nearly in the books, which means it’s time once again to look back at the new motorcycles we’ve tested and select the ones that deserve special recognition for the Motorcycle.com Best Of (MOBO) 2025 awards.
Last year, the BMW R 1300 GS took home the top honor, but it was far from being a unanimous choice, facing stiff competition from the Ducati Panigale V4, the BMW M 1000 XR, and Triumph’s TR series entry-level platform. This year is not lacking in worthy candidates, and the heated debates between your esteemed MO staff will only be topped by the ones we expect to come in the comments section.
This year, we’ve decided to award MOBOs for six categories: Best Lightweight Motorcycle, Best Sportbike, Best Touring Motorcycle, Best Naked Motorcycle, Best Value Motorcycle, and the highly coveted Motorcycle of the Year award.
But first, let’s cover the ground rules: to be eligible for MOBO consideration, MO must have tested the bike during the model year, and it has to be available for sale in the United States at the time of publication.
Now, without further ado, let the 2025 MOBOs begin!
Best Lightweight/Entry-Level Motorcycle of 2025
Best Value Motorcycle of 2025
Best Touring Motorcycle of 2025
Best Sportbike of 2025

My wife got me a tee shirt for Christmas which reads "yes, I really do need all these motorcycles." Although a cute or pithy statement, it gets to the root of the "best" motorcycle discussion. There is no best motorcycle, because it all depends upon what the rider or owner wants to do with it. ADV bikes, can do road and dirt (well, dirt sort-of) and don't necessarily do either as well as the dedicated models for each; nor is a sport touring outfit really solid at sport and touring. Like everything, it's a trade-off. Bottom line, yes, we really do need all those motorcycles, and pick the one that's best for the need at hand. Which means, people need to have big garages and shove bikes (plural) into them if they're really going to exploit the potential of any model type.
Unfortunately none of these are my Motorcycle of the Year. i am 79 years old, have occasional problems with vertigo and sometimes drop two wheel motorcycles while stopped so,my Motorcycle of the Year is something from the Can-Am On Road line. I currently have and ride a Can-Am Spyder F3 Limited. Comfortable, knees in the breeze and I don't fall over!
