Stark Future Joins 2026 Australian Supercross Championship

Stark Future will race the full 2026 Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Championship, presented by Monster Energy. It is the company's first season in Australia, and the first time an electric motorcycle manufacturer takes the start gate in the series.

The Stark factory team will compete across all five rounds, starting in October, with riders in both the SX1 and SX2 classes.

The announcement coincides with a landmark development for Australian Supercross: Motorcycling Australia (MA) has approved eligible electric motorcycles to compete, opening the door for electric and combustion machines to race alongside each other within the appropriate competition classes. Subject to technical regulations and approval from Motorcycling Australia (MA), AUSX has permitted eligible machines to enter directly into the relevant established classes, mirroring a global shift in the sport. This initiative was made possible through close collaboration between Stark, the federation, and AUSX promoters.

The approval of electric motorcycles represents a significant milestone for the sport in Australia and gives manufacturers another platform to develop and showcase emerging technology through competition.

Sinclair added:

“This is a significant step forward for Supercross in Australia. Electric motorcycles can now line up and compete against combustion motorcycles in AUSX, provided they meet MA's eligibility and technical requirements. Ultimately, racing will determine how the different technologies perform against each other.”

Under MA regulations, electric motorcycles must be included on the Electric Motorcycle Approved Competition List, meet the applicable Australian Standards for Electric Vehicles, and pass technical inspection before being permitted to compete. Technical regulations and eligibility requirements remain under the authority of Motorcycling Australia.

For Stark, Australia is not new ground. The brand already has a strong dealer network and a growing rider community across Australia and New Zealand - where the Race Team will now them. The move is another opportunity to prove Stark's technology in competition, following appearances across international disciplines including FIM SuperEnduro, Hard Enduro, EnduroGP and the World Supercross Championship.

The 2026 AUSX campaign caps a season of firsts for Stark Racing. This year Stark swept the podium at the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo Rocket Ride, saw Eddie Karlsson become the first rider ever to finish the main event on an electric bike, and the brand grabbed five of six holeshots on its World Supercross debut in Calgary.

At every AUSX round, fans can visit the Stark activation zone, sign up for free test rides at local dealers, and get close to the bikes and the team.
