2026 Triumph TF 450-X – First Look
Standard production model follows Ricky Carmichael Edition
Triumph is following up its Ricky Carmichael special edition TF 450-RC with the 2026 TF 450-X. The regular production model builds upon the base established by the RC model and adds technical updates recently introduced on the 2026 TF 250-X, including a more durable clutch, new engine mounts, and a revised transmission.
The engine and fuel mappings are unchanged from the Carmichael edition, with the 449.5cc SOHC Single claiming the same peak figures of 62.4 hp at 9,500 rpm and 36.8 lb-ft. at 7,000 rpm. With a claimed weight of 238.8, Triumph says the TF 450-X offers a power-to-weight ratio that surpasses its competitors. While the engine itself remains the same, it does get a new mounting system, with Triumph claiming “more refined chassis performance.”
Like the 2026 TF 250-X, the 450 receives a new Exedy clutch, which Triumph says will offer higher torque capacity, smoother engagement, and more consistent performance compared to the clutch on the RC model. The clutch is housed in a steel clutch basket with Brembo hydraulics and a Belleville spring.
A quickshifter comes standard, offering clutchless upshifts from 2nd to 5th gear. Triumph also installed a new gearbox selector star, claiming improved shifting with more robust engagement.
Beyond these changes, and new Triumph Performance Yellow graphics, the TF 450-X is similar to the TF 450-RC. The frame remains the same aluminum spine twin-cradle frame optimized for longitudinal, lateral, and torsional stiffness.
The suspension is also unchanged, with a 48mm KYB AOS coil spring fork up front, and a piggyback shock with adjustable rebound and high- and low-speed compression. The shock connects to the hydroformed swingarm via a linkage system.
Brembo provides the brake calipers while the brake discs are from Galfer.
The electronics package includes launch control, traction control, and two engine maps. An MX Tune Pro app paired with an Accessory Engine Management Unit (both optional add-ons) unlocks up to 10 additional maps.
Other features include Neken yokes, ProTaper carbon core handlebars, ODI lock-on grips, lightweight JT sprockets, and a D.I.D 520 SDH chain.
The 2026 Triumph TF 450-X should arrive in dealerships soon. U.S. pricing has not been announced, but we expect it to be lower than the TF 450-RC Edition’s $10,995 MSRP.
