Customizing Kit in the Style of a Flat Track Racer
BMW Motorrad unveils The Tracker, an accessories package for the BMW R 12 nineT that translates the unmistakable design language of flat track racing into street-ready customization. Inspired by a motorsport discipline celebrated worldwide for its thrilling dynamics and spectacular drifts on oval dirt tracks, the kit pays homage to this distinctive style.
The Tracker endows the BMW R 12 nineT with a strong and powerful presence. A short, sporty rear section, a signature cockpit fairing, and striking number plates define the look – taking cues from machines that have become design icons far beyond the racetrack.
Features and Design of The Tracker Accessories Package.
Flat track machines embody pure dynamism: compact proportions, clean lines, and bold details create their unmistakable presence. Characteristic features include the short rear, prominent number plates, and a silhouette pared down to pure racing – captivating both motorsport fans and the global customizing scene.
BMW Motorrad captures this spirit with The Tracker accessories package for the BMW R 12 nineT. Every element is designed to bring the purist racing character to the street. The result is a motorcycle that radiates dynamism even at a standstill – with crisp lines, authentic flat track touches, and a unique character that makes the R 12 nineT a true statement.
The Tracker accessories package for the BMW R 12 nineT includes:
- Short rear end Tracker Blackstorm Metallic, including license plate holder (available in black or silver) and multifunctional indicators.
- Cockpit fairing Tracker Blackstorm Metallic.
- Number plate Blackstorm Metallic.
- Tracker sticker set for number plates and lamp mask.
- Front wheel cover 17" Blackstorm Metallic.
These package components are also available individually, offering a high degree of customization when combined with other Original BMW Motorrad accessories.
Note: The tires and race number 35 shown in the photo are not included in The Tracker accessories package. The race number panel offers space for individual design – the race number itself is freely selected and attached by the customer.
Availability and Installation.
The Tracker accessories package is expected to be available in the U.S. in Q4 2025, and can be mounted on the BMW R 12 nineT. BMW Motorrad recommends installation at a professional workshop, preferably at a BMW Motorrad partner.
The Tracker accessories package gives the BMW R 12 nineT a distinctive character, creating an uncompromising urban tracker look inspired by the rugged style of historic flat trackers. With striking elements such as the cockpit fairing and short rear end, it makes a clear statement for riders who want to stand out from the mainstream.
The package is homologated with the vehicle, requiring no additional registration. This makes The Tracker the ideal choice for motorcycle enthusiasts who value both style and simplicity.

It is a kit. Nobody has to buy it. Duhhhh! My XR has a throwback look to XR750. A lot of them went to straight to the track. The roadrace tracks. Not flat track racing. It is absolutely the worst streetbike I have ever owned in 48 years. Horrible bike! But I love it. It is going to my son and I will never sell it.
Wonder how many more years BMW will run this 1170 mill before binning it for the later 1250 improvements in all their non-1300 models?
