2026 Ducati Diavel V4 S Leaked in Design Filings

Revised styling, electronic fork and new exhaust


Ducati is preparing an updated Diavel V4, featuring new wheels, electronic suspension, and reworked styling, including new air intakes derived from the RS model. The electronic suspension suggests the design is for a new Diavel V4 S model, but it’s possible some of the changes will carry over to the base model.


The news comes to us via design filings from Ducati published by the European Union Intellectual Property Office for the motorcycle itself, as well as for the intake and the front and rear wheels. Overlaying an image of the current Diavel V4 over the new look, it’s clear the update is more of a refresh than a wholesale redesign, but some of the visible changes are notable.

The first difference we noticed was the new intakes on either side of the headlight. The new scoops resemble the look on the Diavel V4 RS, though we don’t expect them to be made of carbon fiber. Below the intakes, we see a reshaped radiator shroud, and behind that, a new piece of bodywork on the right side of the forward cylinder bank. We suspect this piece is used to cover the wiring that is exposed on the same location on the current Diavel V4.


The engine itself is visibly unchanged, and we don’t expect any major changes to the Granturismo V4. The exhaust system, however, has changed, with four new slashcut tips and a noticeable bulge underneath, just ahead of the rear wheel.

The wheels themselves have a new shape, with sportier-looking spokes compared to the current design. The tires appear to be unchanged, as Pirelli’s “Rosso IV” branding is visible in the illustrations.


While most of the design filings are focused on the appearance of the grayscale elements, we notice a significant change to the suspension. Looking closely at the overhead view and boosting the contrast, we can clearly see wire leads on the fork tubes, suggesting the new Diavel V4 (or at least, a V4 S variant) will have electronic suspension.


The design of the front caliper mounts are unchanged, which tells us the new Diavel V4 S will use a Marzocchi fork with Ducati Skyhook Suspension similar to the Multistrada V4 S, and not the Öhlins SmartEC3 semi-active suspension that Ducati uses on the Panigale V4.


In the high-contrast image above, we also notice the TFT display housing has a new rectangular shape. Compared to the current design shown below, the outer edges appear to overlap with more of the fork tubes, so the new Diavel may follow the Multistrada in offering a larger 6.5-inch display on the S version instead of the 5-inch display on the base models.

Ducati filed the designs on December 19, 2025, the same day it submitted designs for the new DesertX and Hypermotard V2, which means we should expect the Diavel V4 S to come for the 2026 model year. Ducati will be announcing a Desmo450 MX Factory model on January 9, which means we likely won’t hear about the new Diavel until late January at the earliest.

    The Diavel exhaust system is outrageously CHONKY and ugly. I've seen a Youtuber take one of the systems off and install a replacement. It's MASSIVE.

    Yea yea, emissions emissions emissions. It's abject government overreach and it's driving up the cost of motorcycles to a never heretofore level. Couple decades ago, if we'd have told the motorcycle public what new bikes would cost after 2020's, they'd have laughed us out of the house.
