Best Summer Motorcycle Jackets
Until somebody invents motorcycle AC, these are how you stay cool
Summer, as in hot weather. So hot it’s tempting to take the car instead of the bike and turn up the AC. Don’t fall into that trap. From there it’s a short trip to sloth and gluttony, followed shortly by despair. It’s always going to be tough to stay cool when you’re stopped, but once rolling, the miracle of convective cooling means you can remain reasonably chill even when the temperature starts climbing into triple digits – if you’ve got the right gear. The key is being able to adjust the airflow around your body, staying hydrated, and using your built-in cooling system to convect heat away from yourself. Here’s a quick sampler of the right stuff.

Spidi Progressive Net H2Out Jacket
The Spidi Progressive Net H2Out is all about airflow and it's got a boatload of it. Its chassis is constructed from high-tenacity Extra Tenax triple-twisted nylon 6.6, offering good abrasion and puncture resistance. Large 3D mesh panels on the chest, arms, and back provide significant ventilation, enhancing comfort during warm-weather rides. The jacket includes a removable H2Out liner, which is waterproof, windproof, and breathable, allowing for versatility in changing weather conditions. Safety features comprise CE Level 2 armor at the elbows and CE Level 1 protectors at the shoulders, with the jacket achieving EN 17092-4:2020 Class A certification. Additional elements include a waterproof inner pocket for secure storage, 3M Scotchlite reflectors for improved nighttime visibility, and a jacket-to-pants zipper connection for enhanced safety. REV'IT! Airwave 4 Jacket
The Flying Dutchmen at REV'IT! are coming out this season with the Airwave 4 jacket, a fine piece of riding equipment that is made for these hot summer months. Constructed from the brand's PWR|Shell mesh and polyester ripstop, it offers durability and abrasion resistance while ensuring optimal ventilation. The jacket includes CE Level 1 armor at the shoulders and elbows. Sadly, a back protector is sold separately. Its "tour" fit and regular cut are complemented by adjustability at the lower arms, cuffs, and hem, allowing for a personalized fit. Basically, that means it isn't as snug as sport jackets might usually be. You could potentially layer up for those early morning rides and shed said layers as the day grows hotter. Additional features include a short connection zipper for pairing with compatible pants and reflective elements to enhance visibility. Would we recommend it? Darn tootin', pardner! At $280 this isn't a bad deal, either.
REV'IT! Stratum GTX Jacket
Drawing inspiration from the layers of rock it's named after, the Stratum GTX Jacket lives up to its reputation as an adventure jacket. This 2-layer system ensures unmatched comfort throughout the year, regardless of the weather conditions. When spring and summer arrive, the class AA CE-certified air mesh layer makes your rides a breeze, providing excellent airflow and breathability. Additionally, the jacket features a convenient back pocket designed to accommodate an optional hydration pack, allowing you to easily stay hydrated on the trails.
When the weather takes a turn for the worse—the Stratum GTX has got you covered. Its Gore-Tex shell can be effortlessly added on top of the air mesh jacket, delivering maximum protection against rain and harsh elements. To keep you comfortable even during unexpected showers, the jacket includes ventilation zippers strategically placed on the front, back, and upper arms, allowing you to regulate airflow to your body when the sun emerges once again.
Basically a two-for-one deal, with the Stratum GTX Jacket you can confidently take on any adventure, knowing you're equipped with a versatile and dependable companion that adapts to changing weather conditions. Stay comfortable, protected, and prepared for whatever nature throws your way.

S1 bi-elastic fabric inserts and a Veloce Racing Neck collar improve fit and mobility. Certified to EN 17092 Class AA standards, the jacket includes CE Level 2 composite armor at the shoulders and elbows, plus replaceable aluminum shoulder sliders for controlled abrasion. Interior pockets accommodate optional G1 or G2 back protectors and chest armor. Fit is customizable with waist adjusters and a jacket-to-pants connection system. Article is still outdated. Klim Baja has been updated for 2025. And does not feature the Klim Induction or Pro which was updated for 2025
Need to add the Klim Marrakesh. I can't wear it in weather less than 60 degrees or I start to get chills on the highway. Baja S4 is pretty amazing, I agree.
