2026 Kawasaki Ninjas Announced – With One Notable Exception
Ninja 500, Ninja 650, ZX-4R and ZX-6R, but where is the ZX-10R?
Kawasaki announced its 2026 Ninja sport and supersport lineup, with new colors for the ZX-4R, ZX-6R, Ninja 650, and Ninja 500. Of course, we couldn't help but notice the Ninja ZX-10R and ZX-10RR are conspicuously absent from the announcement.
Usually, when a manufacturer lists a bunch of models returning unchanged but for "bold new graphics," and a motorcycle that should belong to that group was not mentioned, it means one of two things: the bike is getting updated, or it's being discontinued.
Fans of the ZX-10R were concerned, and for good reason. For one, the 2025 model did not receive any changes to make it Euro5+ compliant, and for another, Kawasaki has shifted its racing focus away from the Ninja, and directed it towards the Bimota KB998 Rimini instead.
Thankfully, we can confirm the ZX-10R will live on for 2026, as it was just recently announced in India and China. According to Kawasaki India, the 2026 ZX10R claims 193 hp at 13,000 rpm and 82.6 lb-ft. at 11,400 rpm, a decrease from the 2025 model's claimed 200hp at 13,200 rpm and 84.7 lb-ft. at 11,400 rpm. The drop in both horsepower and torque suggests the ZX-10R has been updated to meet tightened emissions standards, which bodes well for its future in Europe, and likely North America as well.
While we wait for clarification on the ZX-10R, here's what Kawasaki has to say about the rest of its Ninja models.

Too bad if Kawasaki doesn’t bring the Ninja ZX-10R to the US, it will be missed. But I could care less for the return of the Ninja ZX-14R. It has to be the ugliest bike in the Kawasaki SuperSport lineup. Kill it off, we have the Ninja H2, the fastest production ICE/Street legal bike, no need for the fat ugly ZX-14R.
Bold new graphics.
No innovation in the industry anymore.
Tightening Green new scam regulations.
A 650 twin engine (called "beloved" above) from 2006, weakest and most undesirable in the entire 650 twin class.
